Meredith Katona returns to Immaculata University for third season as an assistant coach of the program, following a three year stint as a volunteer assistant coach for the Mighty Mac Field Hockey Team after serving as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach for IU in the 2019 season. A 2017 graduate of IU and dual sport athlete, she spent three seasons on both the field hockey and women’s lacrosse teams. As a senior, she served as a captain for the field hockey team and was an Honorable Mention All-CSAC Midfielder. She was also the team representative for the CSAC All-Sportsmanship Team for both field hockey and women’s lacrosse as a senior.
Academically, Meredith was a 3x CSAC Fall Academic Team and 3x CSAC Spring Academic Team member. She was also named to NFHCA National Academic Squad three times and was a member of the 2017 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.
Outside of IU, Meredith has coached in the community with camps, clinics, and club teams, including Eastern Field Hockey Camp, United Sports Camps, and SPARK. In 2016, she was named head coach for the 7/8th Grade Metro Region Team that competed in the 2016 Keystone State Games. Most recently, she served as the head coach for the 2019 U14 Grey Shock Field Hockey Club team.
Meredith graduated with honors from Immaculata University in 2017 with a B.A. in English. She will begin attending Drexel University in September 2019 to complete a Master’s Program in Physician Assistant Studies.
