Meredith Katona is in her seventh season as an assistant coach in 2025.
She returned to Immaculata for her third season as an assistant coach of the program, following a three-year stint as a volunteer assistant coach for the Mighty Mac field hockey team. This was after serving as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach for IU in 2019.
A 2017 graduate of IU, and a dual-sport athlete, Katona spent three seasons on both the field hockey and women’s lacrosse teams. As a senior, she served as a captain for field hockey and was an Honorable Mention All-CSAC Midfielder. She was the team representative for the CSAC All-Sportsmanship Team for both field hockey and women’s lacrosse as a senior.
Academically, Katona was a three-time CSAC Fall Academic Team and 3x CSAC Spring Academic Team member. She was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad three times and was a member of the 2017 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.
Outside of IU, Katona has coached in the community with camps, clinics, and club teams, including Eastern Field Hockey Camp, United Sports Camps, and SPARK. In 2016, Katona was named head coach for the 7/8th Grade Metro Region Team that competed in the 2016 Keystone State Games. Most recently, she served as the head coach for the 2019 U14 Grey Shock Field Hockey Club team.
Katona graduated with honors from Immaculata in 2017 with a B.A. in English. She attended Drexel University in 2019 to complete her master’s program in Physician Assistant Studies.
