ARLINGTON, Va. – Immaculata women's lacrosse fell to the Marymount University Saints 19-3 on Wednesday afternoon in Atlantic East Conference action.
The Mighty Macs are 3-10 for the season. They are 0-2 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST MARYMOUNT
- Marymount took advantage right away with the first five goals of the contest. Keira Benoit cashed in on a score to erase the zero from the board. Elizabeth Mahmud had forced a turnover, and Abigail Guarneri got the ground ball. The Saints added two more goals before the quarter's end. Marymount led 7-1 after one.
- The two sides traded goals early in the second. After Alexa Marczak caused a turnover and scooped the ground ball, Benoit scored again. Even with an Aaliya Piperato shot being saved, she earned a free position moments later. Piperato got past the defense for the goal. However, three additional Saints scores followed. It was 12-3 at the half.
- The Saints netted three goals in the third quarter. Guarneri faced an array of shots from Marymount's offense, but she would see four saves in the frame. The Saints were up 15-3 through three.
- Despite Clare Dunfee checking in at goalie to open the fourth quarter, Marymount continued to attack. Bailee Neitz and Mahmud caused turnovers defensively, but a comeback was out of reach. Marymount won 19-3.

- Benoit led the team with two goals and four draw controls.
- Marczak collected four ground balls.
