HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST GWYNEDD MERCY
- Immaculata opened the contest with an Aaliya Piperato goal on a Julia Pohl feed. Pohl would score moments later unassisted. The two sides traded goals, with one courtesy of Elizabeth Mahmud on a man-up scenario, and the Griffins eventually got it to 3-3. However, the Mighty Macs took the lead back to end the quarter with Pohl and Piperato cashing in again. It was 5-3 after one.
- The Mighty Macs' offense exploded in the second quarter for a double hat trick. Alexa Marczak started things off, which was one of her three scores in the frame. Between two Gwynedd Mercy goals, Immaculata ripped off five straight to increase their lead. Mahmud got past the goalie twice, one of which was assisted by Keira Benoit. Piperato put a shot in the net on a man-up situation, from Mahmud. A Piperato shot hit the post to conclude the half, but the Mighty Macs were up 11-5 going into the locker room.
- The Griffins chipped away at their deficit in the third quarter with two goals. Abigail Guarneri recorded three saves. One of those saves was on a free position with less than one minute left in the quarter. The advantage still held at 11-7 after three.
- Offense came in quick succession in the fourth quarter. Mahmud scored not even 40 seconds in. Despite a Gwynedd Mercy answer seconds afterward, Benoit and Marczak bumped the lead to six, the latter of which came on a free position. The teams traded one final score each in the waning minutes of the game. Mahmud logged her fifth and final goal on a free position. The Mighty Macs finished the day with a 15-9 victory.
