Baseball Takes on #7 Salisbury Sea Gulls in Final Non-Conference Tune-Up

SALISBURY, Md. – Immaculata baseball suffered a 15-0 setback against the Salisbury University Sea Gulls on Wednesday in their non-conference finale.

Salisbury is ranked seventh in the latest D3baseball.com Top 25 poll.

The Mighty Macs are 15-19 for the season. They are 10-5 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST SALISBURY
  • The Sea Gulls' first batter put them on the board with a home run in the bottom of the first inning. The Mighty Macs eliminated the next three batters to get out of the inning. Immaculata put two runners on base in the third before a strikeout ended the side. The Sea Gulls' offense broke open the score in the bottom of the third with six runs, including back-to-back homers. Immaculata's defense caught a runner stealing second for the third out of the third inning. Salisbury led 7-0 after three.
  • Immaculata's defense retired the fifth inning with a Sea Gulls runner at third. However, Salisbury's offense continued its attack in the back half of the game. The bottom of the sixth was a seven-run barrage for Salisbury to extend the advantage. A fielder's choice against Immaculata was the last play of the afternoon. The Sea Gulls won 15-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS UP NEXT
The Mighty Macs host the Centenary University Cyclones on Friday, May 1 at 3 p.m. to start their final conference series of the regular season. It will also be Senior Day, with eight seniors being honored postgame: Aidan Jackson, Hunter Weitzel, Jacob Kupsey, John Fitzpatrick, Matt Passerini, Robert Woodward, Robertson, and Thomas DeSarno.
