Men’s Lacrosse Uses Second-Half Surge to Defeat Neumann, 14–8

ASTON, Pa. – The Immaculata men's lacrosse team used a dominant second-half surge to pull away from Neumann en route to a 14-8 victory in their AEC regular season finale. Immaculata was fueled by balanced scoring and efficient extra-man execution this afternoon.
 
Jason Smaron, Aaron Headley, and Nick Senatore each recorded hat tricks, and Matthew Ludlow made 14 saves in goal for the Mighty Macs.
 
With the win, Immaculata concludes its regular season 11-5 overall, and they are 3-1 in Atlantic East Conference play. Immaculata has secured the second seed in the Atlantic East Conference Tournament and will host their Semifinal at Draper Walsh Stadium on Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST NEUMANN
  • In the first quarter, Neumann struck first, but Immaculata answered with three goals, including two from Nick Senatore, to even the score at 3–3 after one.
  • The Mighty Macs began to gain momentum in the second quarter as Aaron Headley and Jason Smaron each found the back of the net, helping Immaculata take a 6–4 lead into halftime.
  • Immaculata seized control in the third quarter with a pivotal run, scoring four of the first five goals in the frame. Tallies from Seth Panowitz and Matt Frame extended the lead to 10–6, while the defense limited Neumann's chances.
  • Neumann trimmed the deficit early in the final quarter, but Immaculata responded quickly. Jason Smaron delivered back-to-back man-up goals to spark a closing run, and Logan Pacheco capped the scoring as the Macs secured the 14–8 victory.
