IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's lacrosse team secured its third straight victory with a commanding 13–3 win over Centenary in Atlantic East Conference action at Draper Walsh Stadium. The Mighty Macs improve to 6–10 overall and 2–2 in conference play, officially clinching a spot in the Atlantic East Conference playoffs.
Freshman attackers
Keira Benoit (4 goals, 2 assists) and
Aaliya Piperato (3 goals, 2 assists) led the offensive charge. Juniors
Alexa Marczak (2 goals, 2 assists) and
Julia Pohl (1 goal, 3 assists) also played key roles in the win..
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST CENTENARY
- Immaculata wasted no time taking control, dominating possession from the opening draw. Pohl opened the scoring, while Piperato and Benoit powered a seven-goal run to give the Macs a 7–0 lead after the first quarter.
- The momentum carried into the second, as Immaculata added three more goals to extend the lead to 10–0. Elizabeth Mahmud found the net during the stretch, while Centenary managed its lone first-half goal late in the period, sending the Macs into halftime ahead 10–1.
- Out of the break, Immaculata continued its strong two-way play. Mahmud scored again, and Marczak and Morgan Barnes each added goals to push the lead to 13–1. The defense remained dominant, limiting quality opportunities and controlling the draw circle.
- With the game well in hand, Immaculata emphasized possession and defensive discipline in the fourth. Centenary scored twice late, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome as the Macs cruised to a 13–3 victory.
