IMMACULATA, Pa.- Immaculata dropped a tough defensive battle on Saturday morning, falling 13–0 to Eastern despite a gritty effort on both sides of the ball.
The Mighty Macs held Eastern to just two scores and limited big plays throughout the contest but were unable to find the end zone against a strong Eastern defense.
With the loss, Immaculata falls to 11-3 overall and 10-2 in Atlantic East Conference play, while Eastern improves to 13-2 overall and 11-1 in Atlantic East Conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST EASTERN
- Eastern opened the scoring in the first quarter on a 16-yard touchdown pass, taking a 6–0 lead after a failed conversion.
- The Eagles added what proved to be the final points midway through the second quarter, as Green found the end zone on a 16-yard run. A successful conversion pushed the lead to 13–0 heading into halftime.
- From there, Immaculata's defense settled in. The Mighty Macs consistently disrupted Eastern's rhythm, highlighted by a sack from Tiara Lawler and an interception by Jaclyn Molinini. The unit forced multiple negative plays and made key stops, including a goal-line stand late in the second quarter to keep the deficit within reach.
- Offensively, Immaculata showed flashes of momentum but struggled to sustain drives.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Quarterback Devan Cosgrove completed 16 passes for 107 yards while also leading the team in rushing with 28 yards.
- Eliana Szatkowski paced the receiving corps with eight catches for 68 yards.
- Jaclyn Molinini added a pair of receptions.
- Defensively, Frankie Brunkel and Theresa Jappah each recorded six tackles to lead the team, while Lawler added five tackles and a sack in a strong all-around performance.
- Jaclyn Molinini had an interception for the Mighty Macs.
