Flag Football Falls in an Atlantic East Conference Matchup at Eastern

ST. DAVID'S, Pa.- The Immaculata women's flag football fell to Eastern University, 45-0, in an Atlantic East Conference game at Eastern. Immaculata was unable to get anything going offensively and ran into a sharp, opportunistic Eastern squad on Tuesday afternoon.

With the loss, Immaculata falls to 5-1 overall and is 4-1 in Atlantic East Conference play, while Eastern improves to 7-1 overall and is 6-1 in Atlantic East play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST EASTERN
  • Eastern struck early and never let up, taking advantage of short fields and converting scoring chances throughout the contest. Despite the final score, Immaculata showed flashes—particularly on the ground—but was unable to sustain drives or finish in scoring position.
  • After forcing an early turnover on downs, Immaculata moved the ball behind the legs of Devan Cosgrove and Tiara Lawler, but a fourth-down stop deep in Eastern territory halted the opening momentum. Moments later, Eastern capitalized with a quick touchdown drive to take a 6–0 lead midway through the first quarter.
  • The visitors added another score late in the opening period and extended the lead to 25–0 by halftime, converting multiple Immaculata miscues into points.
  • In the second half, Immaculata found themselves in Eastern territory multiple times, including a late drive in the fourth quarter that reached the 3-yard line, but were unable to break through and score.
