Men's Lacrosse Powers Past King's College, 10-5

IMMACULATA, Pa.- Matthew Ludlow made 20 saves, and Aaron Headley scored five goals and added one assist as the Immaculata men's lacrosse team defeated King's College 10-5 in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium.

With the victory, Immaculata improves to 7-3 overall while King's falls to 3-4 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST KING'S COLLEGE
  • Kings struck first just 16 seconds in, but Immaculata immediately flipped the script. Aaron Headley sparked the response with back-to-back goals, including a man-up finish, as the Mighty Macs capitalized on early opportunities.
  • Immaculata's offense settled in quickly, moving the ball with purpose, while Jude Azzarano and Jason Smaron helped facilitate scoring chances. Despite a brief push from King's to tie it at 2–2, Immaculata closed the quarter on a 2–0 run to seize momentum.
  • In the second quarter, Headley continued his standout day, while Smaron and Azzarano connected to stretch the margin. Even after King's found the net midway through the quarter, Immaculata answered quickly, preventing any sustained run.
  • In the third quarter, both teams settled into a physical, possession-oriented stretch. Immaculata's defense, anchored by goalkeeper Matthew Ludlow, held firm under pressure. Kings attempted to chip away, but the Macs controlled the tempo and limited high-quality looks. A key goal from Ryan Gorman restored a four-goal cushion after King's briefly cut into the lead.
  • Kings made one last push early in the quarter, but Immaculata responded with composure. After a Monarch goal cut the margin to three, the Macs delivered the knockout sequence. Headley and Smaron connected again on back-to-back goals, stretching the lead to 10–5 and effectively sealing the game. The defense and Ludlow handled the final minutes with control, limiting any late surge as the Mighty Macs closed out the win.
