MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.- The Immaculata baseball team returned to action in Myrtle Beach on Wednesday, earning a split in its two games against the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and Westminster.

Immaculata fell to WPI in their first game, 11-1, before coming from behind to beat Westminster in their second game, 8-6.

The Immaculata University baseball team dropped an 11–1 decision to Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Wednesday afternoon at the Polo Grounds Field at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST WPI
- WPI opened the scoring in the top of the first inning, plating two runs on a pair of hits to take an early lead. The Engineers extended their advantage in the second inning, highlighted by a three-run home run to move in front 5–0.
- The Engineers added another run in the third inning to stretch the lead to six before both teams went scoreless through the next two frames. WPI then broke the game open in the sixth inning, scoring five runs on five hits to push its lead to 11–0.
- Immaculata broke through in the bottom of the seventh inning to avoid the shutout. Logan Barndt reached base and came around to score after Matt Passerini singled, and Josh Goulburn followed with an RBI single up the middle to make the score 11–1.

Trailing by six runs entering the sixth inning, the Immaculata University baseball team erupted for eight runs in the inning to complete a dramatic comeback and defeat Westminster College (Pennsylvania), 8–6, on Wednesday afternoon.

With the win, Immaculata improves to 2-6 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST WESTMINSTER
- Westminster controlled the early portion of the contest, scoring once in the first before adding three runs in the third, one in the fourth, and another in the fifth to take a 6-0 lead.
- Immaculata flipped the game in the top of the sixth. After a leadoff walk from Luke Hardnock and a double by Alex Tronosky, the Mighty Macs loaded the bases and got on the board when Luke Baumann drew an RBI walk. A passed ball brought home another run before Joey Mozzone delivered an RBI single.
- With the bases still loaded, Matt Passerini was hit by a pitch to plate another run, tying the game at 6–6. Moments later, Josh Goulburn delivered a two-run double to left, and Luke Hardnock followed with a two-run single to cap the eight-run inning and give Immaculata an 8–6 lead.
- The Immaculata bullpen held Westminster off the board the rest of the way to close out the 8-6 win.
