COACH WHALEN'S REMARKS

We came out strong from the jump," said Head Coach Brittany Whalen. "The first quarter really set the tone for the game, and we were able to sustain that aggressiveness through most of the game. We got a ton of production not only from our starters but also from the bench as well. We are looking to keep this momentum rolling into the final stretch of the regular season."

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST MARYWOOD
  • Carly Coleman controlled the glass from the outset, collecting offensive rebounds that led to second-chance points, while Abby Grillo sparked the offense with perimeter shooting and aggressive drives. A late three-point play by Coleman helped push the advantage to 20 at the buzzer. Defensively, Immaculata held Marywood to just 4-of-19 shooting and forced multiple empty possessions to build a commanding early cushion.
  • Marywood showed resilience in the second quarter, finding better rhythm offensively and briefly trimming the deficit to 12 midways through the period. Immaculata responded with balanced scoring and timely baskets. Sabrina Little provided a spark off the bench, while Grillo and Coleman continued to facilitate the offense. The Mighty Macs maintained composure, closing the half on a strong note to carry a 17-point lead into the break.
  • The Mighty Macs delivered the decisive stretch coming out of halftime. Immaculata opened the third quarter with renewed defensive intensity and turned rebounds into transition points. Olivia Ettorre connected from beyond the arc, and Coleman continued to control the paint on both ends. The Macs outscored Marywood by 13 in the period and pushed the lead past 30 late in the quarter.
  • With the game well in hand, Immaculata maintained its pace and defensive focus in the final 10 minutes. The Mighty Mac bench continued to contribute, highlighted by strong interior play from Julia Pohl and Sofia Kouridakis and additional scoring from the reserve unit.
