HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST CENTENARY (N.J.)
  • The Cyclones stormed out to a strong 12-1 lead in the first set and claimed the initial 10 points. The Mighty Macs answered with a 7-0 run, propelled by back-to-back Adriana Ventura aces. Despite Immaculata trimming the deficit to four later on, Centenary took set one 25-18.
  • Although Centenary held a 12-5 lead early, Immaculata grabbed a few points, thanks to errors from the home team. A 7-1 push was good enough for the Cyclones to lead 20-10, but the Mighty Macs slowly climbed their way back in the frame. Immaculata scored 10 of 11 points to tie the score at 23. Kills from Madi Kyle and Tara Hirschtritt highlighted the momentum swing. Immaculata was responsible for four of the last five points of set two, as they held on for a 27-25 "overtime" win.
  • The Mighty Macs claimed the early advantage before an 8-1 Centenary run allowed the Cyclones to go ahead. Centenary rallied from a two-point hole and scored the last four points of the set for a 25-23 victory.
  • An 8-1 Immaculata push, capped off by consecutive Angelica Santini Bulerin aces, placed the score at 9-3. The Mighty Macs kept the Cyclones at a distance for most of the set before Centenary tied it at 19. It was part of a larger 8-1 outburst that gave Centenary the advantage for good. Centenary won the set 25-22, and the match 3-1.
