IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata women's soccer saw an impressive day from
Gracie Repici, whose career-high three goals, and first career hat trick, helped Immaculata earn a 3-1 win versus the Gwynedd Mercy University Griffins on Saturday.
Saturday's contest was a Pink Out Game, honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Mighty Macs are 7-4 for the season. They are 2-1 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST GWYNEDD MERCY
- Repici knocked in her first shot of the day after beating her defender, on an assist by Briana Carpinella. Flora Hernandez tipped a pass to Natalie D'Alfonso, who dropped a dime to Repici, allowing her to send a shot to the left side of the net. This gave Immaculata a 2-0 lead in the opening 20 minutes. Despite an Addi Husenica save in the 25th minute, the Griffins responded three minutes after to cut the deficit in half. Husenica denied a Gwynedd Mercy shot in the final seconds, with Immaculata holding a 2-1 advantage at halftime.
- The Mighty Macs' offense went to work in the second half with multiple shots and corner kicks. Hernandez assisted Repici again, when the latter capped off her scoring with a rocket that went just over the goalie's head. Gwynedd Mercy, down two goals, got one back in the 89th minute on a penalty kick. But, the comeback attempt was too late. Immaculata won 3-2.
