COACH STRAMARA'S COMMENTS
"I couldn't be more proud of how our guys finished in the final two minutes," head coach
Kyle Stramara said. "We knew it was going to be a physical battle, and from start to finish, we stay connected, made the plays when it mattered, and showed real heart down the stretch. That and-one by Christian [Chambers], and our guys' resilience in the clutch, really defined our effort. It's a big win for our confidence and a testament to everyone's belief in each other."
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST PRATT
- The contest started out slow for both sides, with the Mighty Macs not getting their first basket until 14:26 on a Christian Chambers triple. A 9-0 run allowed Immaculata to take the lead, capped off by a Mandon Seapoe layup. Immaculata and Pratt scored buckets in quick succession for a good amount of the half, and the teams each took turns grabbing a slim one-point lead. As Pratt cut their deficit to one at the end of the half, Duce Jackson hit a buzzer-beater to conclude the opening 20 minutes. Immaculata led 40-37 going into the locker room.
- Neither team wanted to release their advantage to the other in the second half. Jalen Flowers and Kevin Telesford converted consecutive threes to lead 59-55. The Mighty Macs continued to play with the lead until 4:43 left, when a Pratt layup temporarily put them up a point. There were multiple times the score was tied, but an and-one by Chambers with 22 seconds on the clock sealed the game. Immaculata won 89-82.
