IMMACULATA, Pa. – Despite good defense from Immaculata men's soccer on Monday evening, they could not pick up the win against the Elizabethtown College Blue Jays. The final score was 1-0.
The Mighty Macs are 0-3 for the season. Their first AEC game will be on Saturday, Oct. 4 versus Centenary (N.J.).
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ELIZABETHTOWN
- The Blue Jays made the first move not even two minutes in with a shot attempt, which was blocked. The Mighty Macs' defense stood tall through a few blocked shots, and Luca Greppellini saved an attempt that was high to the right. Despite a Colin Jester shot being off-target, it was the first attempt for Immaculata's offense. The Mighty Macs continued to keep Elizabethtown out of the net until the 40th minute. A yellow card resulted in a kick that led to a visitors' goal. The Blue Jays saw one last shot as the half ended 1-0.
- A Blue Jays yellow card at the start of the second half gave the Mighty Macs an offensive opportunity with two shots. One was saved, while the other was off-target. Both teams traded shots throughout the half. Immaculata also saw multiple corner kicks. Michael Prall nearly netted a goal in the 90th minute, but it was slightly high. Elizabethtown won 1-0.
