ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Immaculata University broke through in the third quarter with three goals to defeat Cedar Crest College, 3-0, on Saturday morning.
Sophomore forward
Alexis Andrada led the way for the Mighty Macs, recording her
first career hat trick, while freshman
Mackenzie Schrack notched her first career solo shutout in goal.
With the victory, Immaculata improves to 4-6 overall, while Cedar Crest falls to 2-7 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED VS CEDAR CREST
- Immaculata controlled possession early, outshooting Cedar Crest 4-0 in the first quarter.
- The Mighty Macs continued their pressure in the second quarter, holding a 4-2 edge in shots and a 5-2 advantage in penalty corners.
- Immaculata opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, when Alexis Andrada netted her seventh goal of the season, assisted by Morgan Barnes, to give Immaculata a 1-0 lead.
- Just two minutes later, in the 34th minute, Andrada struck again for her eighth goal of the season, once again assisted by Barnes off a penalty corner, extending the lead to 2-0.
- Andrada completed her hat trick in the 38th minute, finishing her ninth goal of the year off with a feed from Maria Freeman to push the lead to 3-0.
- Immaculata's defense held strong throughout the second half, limiting Cedar Crest scoring opportunities and securing the shutout.

- Alexis Andrada recorded her first career hat trick, becoming the first Immaculata player to do so since Lauren Vandenbraak accomplished the feat against Manhattanville on October 21, 2023.
