Baseball set back by Marymount in Atlantic East postseason opener

TYSONS, Va.- The Immaculata University baseball team took on top-seeded Marymount University in the first round of the Atlantic East Conference Tournament on Wednesday. The Mighty Macs were blanked by the Saints, falling 4-0 on the afternoon.

The loss places Immaculata in the bottom half of the four-team double-elimination bracket alongside Centenary University, who fell to Neumann in extra innings during their Atlantic East playoff opener 7-6.

How it Happened
Jordan Silvestri got the nod for Immaculata, allowing scattered runs to Marymount. He'd hold the Saints to two runs through seven innings of play, as they'd plate one run in the first and third inning. Marymount extended their lead to 4-0 in the eighth, a score that would hold through the final out.

The Mighty Macs managed just three hits and four walks against Marymount, as Sal Serici went 2-3 and Will Kelley went 1-3. Ryan Nace drew two walks while Nick Turnage and Maddox Stern each had one.
