ARLINGTON, Va.- The Immaculata baseball team fell to Marymount 11-1 in the opening game of their three-game AEC series on Thursday afternoon. Marymount broke the game open with eight runs in the bottom of the third inning and added a pair in the bottom of the sixth. Maddox Stern drove in the only run for Immaculata. 

With the loss Immaculata falls to 10-25 overall, and 5-8 in Atlantic East Conference play. Marymount Improves to 21-17 overall, and 11-2 in Atlantic East Conference play.  

How it Happened 

• Marymount opened the scoring with a single run in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. 

• Immaculata tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the second inning when Maddox Stern scored Sal Serici with a sacrifice but to the pitcher. 

• Marymount broke the game open in the bottom of the third inning scoring eight runs to take a 9-1 lead. 

• Marymount added a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and closed out the 11-1 in in seven innings. 

Inside the Numbers 

• Sal Serici was 1-3 with one run scored, and one stolen base. 

• Maddox Stern drove in Immaculata's only run on a sacrifice bunt. 

• John Fitzpatrick took the loss in relief for Immaculata.

• The series will move to the IU Baseball Stadium for the final two games with the doubleheader scheduled for Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
