FREDERICK, Md.- The Immaculata men's volleyball team dropped both matches on Saturday at the Woodsboro Bank Arena at Hood College, falling to Hood 3-2, and Eastern Mennonite 3-0.

• Hood 3, Immaculata 2 (26-24, 25-14, 18-25, 18-25, 11-15) 

• Eastern Mennonite 3, Immaculata 0 (10-25, 15-25, 15-25)

• Immaculata 6-12 overall

• Eastern Mennonite 15-15 overall, 8-4 ODAC 

How it Happened vs Hood 

• Set 1: Trailing 20-14, Christian Lee got a side out on a kill. Noah Zunski served three consecutive points including a service ace. Trailing 23-24, Joe Martell served three straight points which included a kill from Noah Zunski and two from Nate Bailey to take set one 26-24. 

• Set 2: With Immaculata leading 18-14, Noah Zunski served the final seven points in the set. The run included a kill from Josh McGurl and two kills from Joe Martell as Immaculata took set two 25-14. 

• Set 3: In set three Josh McGurl's block tied the score at 10-10. Hood used a pair of three-point runs to take a 23-16 lead. Hood won the set 25-18. 

• Set 4: Hood used a four-point run to take a 12-6 lead in set four. Hood would close out set four winning 25-18 forcing the deciding set. 

• Set 5: Immaculata took an early 4-1 lead in the deciding set, a led 8-6. Hood used a five-point run to take a 12-9 lead. Hood would complete the reverse sweep winning set five 15-11 to take the match 3-2. 

Inside the Numbers 

• Josh McGurl had 15 kills, two service aces, six blocks and 9 digs. 

• Joe Martell had 38 assists, three kills, one service ace, and three digs. 

• Noah Zunski had 12 kills, one service ace, two blocks, and five digs. 

• Christian Lee had nine kills, three blocks, and three digs. 

• Nate Bailey had seven kills, one service ace, and five digs. 

• Brandon Lieberman had a team-high 11 digs. 

How it Happened vs Eastern Mennonite 

• Set 1: Immaculata opened an early 5-1 lead behind a kill from Noah Zunski, a kill from Nate Bailey and a Joe Martell service ace. Eastern Mennonite responded with a 16-1 run to take a 17-6 lead. Eastern Mennonite won the set 25-10. 

• Set 2: Noah Zunski got a kill off an assist from Joe Martell to tie the score at 5-5. Eastern Mennonite used an 8-2 run to take control of the set. They would win the set 25-15. 

• Set 3: Immaculata got kills from Ethan Ngo and Noah Zunski to tie the score at 2-2. Eastern Mennonite used a four-point run to take a 7-3 lead. Eastern Mennonite had another pair of four-point runs on their way to winning the set 25-15 and the match 3-0.

• Josh McGurl had three kills, and two digs.

• Congratulations to Immaculata fifth-year setter Joe Martell. He finishes his IU career as the program's all-time leader in assists with 1,991 career assists, and established an IU program record for assists in one season with 534.
