Baseball Falls to TCNJ in Non-Conference Game, 15-4

EWING, N.J.- The Immaculata baseball team fell to The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) 15-4 in Seven innings in a non-conference game on Tuesday night afternoon. Nick Turnage went 2-4 with a pair of RBIs for Immaculata. With the loss Immaculata falls to 8-21 overall and are 4-5 in Atlantic East Conference play. TCNJ improves to 20-10 overall and are 8-2 in NJAC play. 

How it Happened 

  • TCNJ opened the scoring in the bottom of the 1st inning with a two-run home run to center field to take a 2-0 lead. 

  • TCNJ extended their lead to 9-0 in the bottom of the second inning with a grand slam and a solo home run. 

  • TCNJ added a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take an 11-0 lead. 

  • TCNJ added four additional runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 15-2 lead. 

  • Immaculata scored in the top of the seventh when Josh Goulburn doubled to left center to score Ryan Robertson. Nick Turnage then hit a single up the middle to score Goulburn to make the score 15-4.  

  • TCNJ closed out the top of the seventh to win the game 15-4. 

Inside the Numbers 

  • Josh Goulburn had a pinch-hit double with a run scored and one RBI. 

  • Brian Dino got the start and took the loss going 2.1 innings.

  • The Immaculata baseball team will be back in action on Thursday, April 17th when they host Penn College at the IU Baseball Stadium at 3:30 p.m.
