IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata baseball team earned a split in the Atlantic East Conference doubleheader with Marywood at the IU Baseball Stadium on Sunday. Immaculata fell to Marywood 6-2 in the first game, before winning 17-7 in eight innings in game two.
Steven Theisen hit a grand slam to left field in the fifth inning and then ended the game in the bottom of the eighth inning with a two-run double to left center to put the run-ahead rule into effect.
Alex LePage improved to 4-4 on the season pitching 6.2 innings with six strikeouts.

With the split Immaculata moves to 7-20 overall and is 3-5 in Atlantic East Conference play. Marywood moved 10-13 overall and is 2-6 in Atlantic East Conference play.

How it Happened
- Marywood took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning on a single to right center field.
- Immaculata tied the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the second inning when Will Kelley dropped a perfect bunt for a single to score Sal Serici.
- Marywood scored three in the top of the third on a two-run triple to right center, and an RBI double to left field to take a 4-1 lead.
- Immaculata got a run back in the bottom of the third when Ryan Nace scored Steven Theisen from third on a sacrifice fly to right field to cut the lead to 4-2.
- Marywood added runs in the top of the fourth and one in the top of seventh as they closed out the 6-2 win.

How it Happened
- Marywood threatened in the top of the second inning loading the bases with no outs. Alex LePage retired the next two batters on a fielder's choice with the force outs at the plate. LePage got out of the jam without allowing a run, getting the third out on a fly ball to right field.
- In the top of the third Marywood scored three runs with a solo home run to left, a run scored on a ground out, and one run on that scored on an error to take a 3-0 lead.
- Immaculata responded in the bottom of the third inning when Ryan Nace hit a two-run double to right field to score Robert Woodward and Matt Passerini, and advanced to Steven Theisen to third base. Theisen then scored on a wild pitch to tie the score at 3-3. Sal Serici doubled to right center to score Nace to give Immaculata a 4-3 lead. Serici scored on a sacrifice fly by Logan Barndt to increase Immaculata's lead to 5-3.
- Immaculata extended their lead in the bottom of the fifth inning with Will Kelley hitting a two-run single to center field to score Sal Serici and Ryan Nace. Blake Schantz was hit by a pitch; Matt Passerini got a single to load the bases. Steven Theisen hit a grand slam home run to left field to extend Immaculata's lead to 11-3. Nick Turnage pinch hit for Ryan Struble and doubled off the wall in right field. Ryan Nace followed with a two-run home run to right field to give Immaculata a 13-3 lead.
- Marywood scored a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning.
- Ryan Nace drove in another run for Immaculata on a ground out in the bottom of the seventh inning.
- Marywood scored another run on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth inning.
- In the bottom of the eighth, Matt Passerini hit an RBI double to the wall in left center to score Josh Goulburn, and move Robert Woodward to third, and increased Immaculata's lead to 15-7.
- Steven Theisen ended the game with a two-run double off the wall in right field to score Woodward and Passerini winning the game 17-7.
