DELAWARE, Ohio- The Immaculata women's basketball team faced No. 16 / 18 ranked Ohio Wesleyan in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Immaculata concluded their tournament run with an 87-42 loss to Ohio Wesleyan at the Branch Rickey Arena on Friday evening.
The game marked the first-ever meeting between Immaculata and Ohio Wesleyan in women's basketball. Despite the loss, Immaculata's second appearance in the NCAA Tournament highlighted the program's best season in the NCAA era. Immaculata finished the season 22-4 overall and captured their second Atlantic East Conference Championship, completing a 12-0 run through the regular season and conference tournament. The Mighty Macs also finished 14-0 at Alumnae Hall this season and had a fifteen-game winning streak.
With the win, Ohio Wesleyan improved to 24-3 overall, and were 14-0 in NCAC play, and they will advance to play Washington and Jefferson in the second round on Saturday evening.

In the first quarter, Ohio Wesleyan jumped out to an early 7-0 lead. Carly Coleman scored on a layup to get Immaculata on the board. Riley Cassidy hit a pair of free throws, and Meg Robbins scored on a layup for Immaculata.

In the second quarter, Reese Mullins scored on a layup while drawing a foul. Mullins completed the three-point play at the free throw line. Riley Cassidy scored on a layup, and Tessa Liberatoscioli hit a pair of free throws for Immaculata. Julia Pohl scored on a jumper late in the quarter as Ohio Wesleyan led 51-21 at halftime.

Carly Coleman led Immaculata with 10 points, shooting 4-5 from the field, with seven rebounds, two assists and one blocked shot.

The Immaculata women's basketball team has now concluded its 2024-25 season. Congratulations to Immaculata's seniors Abigail Boyer, Victoria Foster, Tessa Liberatoscioli, and Reese Mullins for completing their Immaculata careers winning their second Atlantic East Conference Championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the second time, and congratulations to graduate transfer Alyssa Long for winning the AEC Championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament in her lone season with the Immaculata program.
