AUBURNDALE, FL.- The Immaculata baseball team closed out their run at the RussMatt Invitational defeating Ohio Northern 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Jordan Silvestri was outstanding on the mound today throwing a complete game three hit shutout with no walks and five strikeouts.
Ryan Struble had a two-run single for the Mighty Macs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
With the win, Immaculata improves to 2-11 overall, and with the loss Ohio Norther falls to 9-5 overall.
How it Happened
- The game remained scoreless until the top of the fourth inning. Will Kelley and Matt Passerini each singled. Kelly and Passerini each advanced a base on an error on Passerini's hit. Steven Theisen reached on a hit by pitch to load the bases. Ryan Nance reached on a fielder's choice, and an error that allowed Kelley and Passerini to score to give Immaculata a 2-0 lead.
- In the sixth inning, Ryan Nance, and Sal Serici each drew walks. They advanced to third base and second base on a passed ball. Ryan Struble hit a two-run single to score Nance and Serici to give Immaculata a 4-0 lead.
- Jordan Silvestri was able to go on to close out the complete game 4-0 win for the Mighty Macs.
