Mighty Macs go quiet against SUNY Brockport

WINTER HAVEN, Fla.- The Immaculata baseball team fell to the Golden Eagles of SUNY Brockport by a final score of 8-1 during a RussMatt Invitational game. Ryan Nace accounted for the Mighty Macs' lone run, as he'd deliver a pinch hit triple in the eighth. Immaculata will wrap up play in the Florida tournament tomorrow, as they'll face Ohio Northern University at 1:15pm on Saturday, March 15th in Auburndale.

How it Happened
  • Alex LePage earned the nod for Immaculata, as he pitched a clean first and second inning, striking out the first and third hitters of the game.
  • The Golden Eagles got on the board in the third inning with a homerun over the right field fence.
  • LePage shunned Brockport in the 4th, 5th, and 6th innings before the Macs turned things over to the bullpen. The southpaw finished with 2 runs against and 6 strikeouts in his six inning start.
  • SUNY Brockport relied on the long ball in the top 7th inning, adding 2 homeruns in the frame and generating a 6-0 lead.
  • Immaculata earned a run back in the bottom of the 8th, as Ryan Nace had a one out pinch-hit triple to right field. He'd cross the plate on a single from the bat of Matt Passerini.
  • Brockport added a pair of unearned runs in the top of the ninth as Immaculata was unable to tighten the score any closer.
Inside the Numbers
