Women's Basketball Hosts Neumann for AEC Game at Alumnae Hall on Wednesday

THE STORYLINE
  • The Immaculata women's basketball team (16-3, 6-0 AEC) will be back in action on Wednesday evening when they host Neumann University at Alumnae Hall for an AEC game.
  • Immaculata enters Wednesday evening's game after defeating Marymount on the road Saturday 70-51 using a strong fourth quarter surge to pull away from the Saints. With the win Immaculata secured a berth in the Atlantic East Conference Tournament later this month.
  • Neumann (12-7, 4-2 AEC) enters Wednesday's game after defeating Marywood 49-46 on the road on Saturday.
 
THE SERIES HISTORY
  • Immaculata and Neumann will be meeting for the 70th time in their series that began in 1992.
  • Immaculata is 24-45 all-time vs Neumann.
 
LAST MEETING
  • Immaculata defeated Neumann 77-67 in their previous meeting on January 8th at Neumann.

  • Tessa Liberatoscioli scored 13 points, with six rebounds, one assist, and four steals. Liberatoscioli was a plus 17 in the game.
  • Alyssa Long scored six points, with seven rebounds, five assists, one blocked shot, and two steals. Long was a plus 24 in the game.
  • Reese Mullins scored five points with four rebounds and was a plus 18 in the game. Mullins who hit the 1000-point mark this season, is approaching her 500th career rebound. Mullins currently has 493 career rebounds.

SCOUTING NEUMANN
  • Senior forward Emily DuPont leads Neumann averaging 16.3 PPG and 6.0 RPG game, with 34 blocked shots, and 57 steals. DuPont led Neumann with 19 points vs Immaculata on 1/8.
  • Senior guard Aubrie Breisblatt is averaging 12.2 PPG and 5.1 RPG. Breisblatt had 17 points in the previous meeting with Immaculata.
  • Jacqueline Wardrop is averaging 8.2 PPG and 4.1 RPG. She scored a season-high 17 points vs PSU-Abington on 1/30.
  • As a team Neumann is shooting 40.9% from the field, 24.6% from behind the arc, and are shooting 75.2% from the stripe.
WEEKLY HONORS
  • Abigail Boyer was named Atlantic East Conference Player of the Week for a second time this season. Boyer tied her career high, scoring 24 points, shooting 4-9 from three-point territory, with six rebounds, and two steals to help lead Immaculata to an AEC win at Marymount on Saturday. Boyer scored nine of her 24 points in the fourth quarter and was a plus 20 for the Mighty Macs. Boyer now ranks seventh all-time in program history for career three-pointers with 106. Boyer is the fifth consecutive Might Mac to be named AEC Women's Player of the Week.
  • Carly Coleman was named to the Atlantic East Conference Weekly Honor Roll. Coleman had eight rebounds including four defensive rebounds, with a blocked shot, and five steals to go along with 15 points and four assists to help lead Immaculata to an AEC win at Marymount on Saturday. Coleman was a plus 23 for the game. This was Coleman's fifth time earning weekly honors this season, having been named Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week one time each, being named to the Weekly Honor Roll three times.
BOYER CAN BOMB
  • Abigail Boyer became the seventh Mighty Mac in program history to reach 100 career three-pointers on January 18th vs Centenary. Boyer currently sits seventh in program history with 106 career three-pointers and trails her former coach Chrissy Rhine (Esbensen) who sits in sixth with 107. Amber Ballinger sits in fifth with 126, and Boyer's former teammate Morgan Falcone is in the fourth spot with 131. Mary Gallagher is third with 159, Lindsey Williams is second with 166, and Nina Cammarano is the all-time leader with 177.
AROUND THE AEC
  • Action around the AEC continues to intensify as the we approach the final weeks of the 2024-25 regular season. Immaculata has secured a spot in the five-team AEC Tournament. The Mighty Macs will be looking to secure a first-round bye, and home court advantage.
  • Immaculata currently sits in first place at 6-0, Neumann is in second place at 4-2, Marymount is third at 3-3, Centenary occupies fourth at 2-4, Marywood holds the fifth spot at 2-5, and Gwynedd Mercy is currently sixth at 1-4.
