READING, Pa.- The Immaculata men's track and field team opened their 2025-26 Indoor season schedule on Saturday when they competed in the Alvernia Rust Buster at the Plex at Alvernia University on Saturday.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• As a team Immaculata finished fifth out of seven teams with 53 points.
• Jayden Barksdale finished in first place in the 60 Meter with an IU program record time of 7.16 after running 7.19 in the preliminary round.
• Yerlin Ortiz finished in first place in the 60 Meter Hurdles with an IU program record time of 9.63 after running 9.78 in the preliminary round.
• Colin Corkery finished in second place in the Shot Put, and third place in the Weight Throw.
• Immaculata had five athletes competing in their first collegiate track and field event.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED - TRACK EVENTS

• Distance Medley Relay: The team of Jimmy Lauer, Alexander Wilson, Christopher Watson, and Connor Kakowski finished second with a time of 12:37.80.
• 60 Meter Hurdles: Yerlin Ortiz finished first place in the finals with a time of 9.63, after running 9.78 in the preliminaries.
• 60 Meter: Jayden Barksdale finished first place in the finals with a time of 7.16 after running 7.19 in the preliminaries. Aaron Cuthbert finished 11th with a personal best time of 7.50, and Kellan Albitz finished 23rd with a time of 7.95.
• One Mile: Jason Canterino finished in 12th with a time of 5:51.77, and Kendall Budlow finished 14th with a personal best time of 6:29.55.
• 800 Meter: Connor Kakowski finished sixth with a time of 2:16.99, Christopher Watson finished eighth with a time of 2:20.33, Jimmy Lauer finished 10th with a time of 2:24.28, and Yerlin Ortiz finished 12th with a time of 2:31.54.
• 200 Meter: Aaron Cuthbert finished 10th with a time of 24.22, Jayden Barksdale finished 11th with a time of 24.55, and Kellan Albitz finished 19th with a time of 26.52.
• 4x400 Meter Relay: The team of Aaron Cuthbert, Jayden Barksdale, Yerlin Ortiz, and Christopher Watson finished third with a time of 4:17.36, and the team of Kendall Budlow, Jimmy Lauer, Christopher Watson, and Jason Canterino finished fourth with a time of 4:21.32.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED – FIELD EVENTS

• Shot Put: Colin Corkery finished third with a throw of 12.18 meters or 39'11.5", and Thomas Conolly finished 19th with a throw of 9.19 meters or 30'2".
• Weight Throw- Colin Corkery was the runner-up with a throw of 12.61 meters or 41'4.5", and Thomas Connolly finished 14th with a throw of 7.69 meters or 25'2.75".
