Immaculata Defeats Albright 77–63 in Final Home Game Before Break

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University women's basketball team earned a 77–63 victory over Albright on Saturday afternoon at Alumnae Hall in its final home game before the holiday break.
 
Carly Coleman led the Mighty Macs with her fourth double-double of the season, finishing with 25 points and 11 rebounds. She also added six assists, and four steals in an all-around performance. Olivia Ettorre contributed 13 points, knocking down three of her five attempts from beyond the arc.
 
With the win, Immaculata improves to 7–2 overall, while Albright drops to 3–5 on the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED VS ALBRIGHT
  • Albright jumped out to an early 3–0 lead, but Immaculata responded with three-pointers from Sabrina Little and Abby Grillo to take control.
  • Holding an 8–5 advantage, Grillo found Olivia Ettorre on a kick-out pass, and Ettorre connected on a three-pointer from the elbow to extend the lead to 11–5.
  • Carly Coleman scored on a pair of layups, and Ettorre added another three as Immaculata closed the first quarter ahead 22–13.
  • The Mighty Macs opened the second quarter with a layup from Coleman, followed by a second-chance basket and a three-pointer from Riley Cassidy to push the lead to 29–15.
  • As foul trouble forced some starters to the bench, Immaculata received key contributions from its reserves. Sofia Kouridakis grabbed an offensive rebound and scored on a putback following a missed free throw, while Keira Benoit added a putback layup late in the quarter.
  • Benoit then pushed the ball up the floor on the final possession and found Kouridakis, who drained a buzzer-beating 20-foot jumper to give Immaculata a 41–27 lead at halftime.
 
  • Coleman opened the scoring in the third quarter with a layup, but Albright trimmed the deficit to 47–34 with 6:46 remaining.
  • Ettorre knocked down another three-pointer, and layups by Coleman and Cassidy sparked a run that extended Immaculata's lead to 60–36 with 2:06 left in the quarter.
  • Coleman capped the third quarter with a driving layup in the final seconds as the Mighty Macs took a commanding 66–38 lead into the fourth.
 
  • Albright turned up the pressure in the fourth quarter.
  • Immaculata maintained control in the final period, closing out the game for the 77–63 victory.

  • Olivia Ettorre scored 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. She also contributed two assists and two blocked shots, posting a team-best +24.
  • Riley Cassidy finished with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, along with three rebounds and one blocked shot, and was +20 for the game.
  • Abby Grillo added nine points, two rebounds, two assists, one blocked shot, and one steal.
  • Sofia Kouridakis scored career-high eight points to go along with four rebounds, one blocked shot, and one steal.
  • Meg Robbins pulled down nine rebounds and added two assists, one blocked shot, and one steal.

  • Team Stats: Immaculata shot 45.5% from the field, 42.9% from three-point range, and 64.7% from the free throw line. Immaculata scored 38 points in the paint, 19 points off turnovers, scored 20 second chance points, and got 25 points off the bench.
