IMMACULATA, Pa. – Even with a slim halftime lead over the Notre Dame of Maryland Gators on Monday, Immaculata men's basketball could not stop a 13-0 Gators second half run, which was the deciding factor. The final score was 102-93.
The Mighty Macs are 1-6 for the season. Their first AEC game will be on Wednesday, Jan. 7 versus Neumann.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST NOTRE DAME (MD)
- The Mighty Macs came out strong, as Christian Chambers scored eight of Immaculata's first 13 points. This would force an early Notre Dame of Maryland timeout. Despite the Gators getting their way back into the game, the Mighty Macs remained in control. Jalen Flowers hit back-to-back triples to go up 35-27. A Gators layup with 1:05 left in the half cut the visitors' deficit to two. Immaculata went to the locker room with a 45-43 advantage.
- Both teams kept the score tightly contested in the early stages of the second set of 20 minutes. A Kevin Telesford three knotted the score at 56. Although Immaculata eventually had a 77-75 lead, a 13-0 Notre Dame of Maryland outburst sealed the game. The Mighty Macs fought at the end with a few triples and by intentionally fouling Notre Dame of Maryland players, but the Gators won 102-93.
