Men's Basketball Dealt a Setback versus Arcadia Knights

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Immaculata men's basketball could not overcome a strong second half from the Arcadia University Knights on Tuesday afternoon. The final score was 85-74.

The Mighty Macs are 1-5 for the season. Their first AEC game will be on Wednesday, Jan. 7 versus Neumann.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ARCADIA
  • Bowen Gugger opened the game with a quick three-pointer. Similar to the previous game against Rutgers-Camden, the Mighty Macs saw a hot 11-2 start. Even though Arcadia climbed their way back into the contest, a few Immaculata triples kept the lead on the Mighty Macs' side. Kevin Telesford assisted on a Mandon Seapoe layup before Arcadia answered with a three with 17 seconds left. The Mighty Macs led 46-42 at the half.
  • The Knights came out of the locker room on a 9-0 run that gave them a 51-46 advantage. Idan Zuker would cut the deficit in half with about 15 minutes left in regulation. The Knights controlled the second half in the paint and at the free throw line, despite a good effort from Immaculata. A Dylan Crews layup would be the final bucket of the evening as the Knights won 85-74.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Domenic Vacchiano, Crews, Seapoe, and Telesford each led the team with 12 points apiece.
  • Vacchiano recorded his second double-double of the season. This time, it was 12 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Both Immaculata and Arcadia blocked five shots.
