Women's Basketball Faces Neumann for AEC Road Test on Wednesday

THE STORYLINE
  • The Immaculata women's basketball team (11-3, 1-0 AEC) will be back in action on Wednesday when they visit Neumann University for an Atlantic East Conference game.
  • Immaculata enters Wednesday's game after defeating Marymount University on Saturday in their AEC opener 78-65 at Alumnae Hall on Saturday.
  • Neumann (9-5, 1-0 AEC) enters Wednesday's game after defeating Marywood University 68-45 at home on Saturday.

  • Immaculata and Neumann will be meeting for the 69th time in their series that began in 1992.

MIGHTY MAC NOTES
  • Reese Mullins capped off a strong week on Saturday, leading all scorers with a season-high of 25 points. Mullins scored 11 of her points in the fourth quarter to help the Mighty Macs earn the win.
  • Tessa Liberatoscioli finished the week with 14 combined steals, and 41 combined points. Liberatoscioli had six steals and scored 18 points in Saturday's win. She scored nine of her points in the fourth quarter for the Mighty Macs.
  • Riley Cassidy scored 11 points off the bench Saturday, shooting 4-6 from the field, and 3-3 from three-point territory with four rebounds, and a steal for Immaculata.
  • Carly Coleman scored six points, with seven rebounds, and two steals on Saturday.
  • Meg Robbins scored six points and contributed two rebounds in Saturday's win.

  • Senior forward Emily DuPont scored 15 points for Neumann, with seven rebounds and four steals in their win over Marywood on Saturday.
  • Senior guard Aubrie Breisblatt scored 15 points, with six rebounds, and two steals on Saturday.
  • Fifth year guard Jacqueline Wardrop scored 11 points and had 10 rebounds in their win over Marywood on Saturday.
  • First year guard Jenna Aponik scored 10 points for the Knights in Saturday's game.
  • As a team Neumann is shooting 40.5% from the field, 26.6% from three-point range, and 74% from the free throw line.
  • Neumann is 4-3 at home this season.
 
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
  • The game will feature a battle between players currently ranked #1 and #2 in the AEC in steals. Tessa Liberatoscioli sits in first with 46 steals, and her former high school teammate Emily DuPont of Neumann sits in second with 37 steals.
  • With her 46 steals, Liberatoscioli enters the week tied for fifth in Division III for steals.
  • In Thursday's win over Misericordia, Liberatoscioli tied her own career-high, and the modern IU program record for steals in a game with eight. Liberatoscioli has recorded eight steals three times including: 11/29/2023 vs Arcadia, 12/20/2023 vs PSU Abington, and 1/2/2025 vs Misericordia. She shares the modern IU program record with her former head coach Chrissy Rhine (Esbensen) who registered eight steals in a game on 1/13/2010 vs PSU Brandywine.

  • The Mighty Macs are 3-3 on the road this season.

  • The Immaculata women's basketball team swept the AEC weekly women's basketball awards announced on Monday afternoon.
  • Reese Mullins won her second consecutive Player of the Week award, having been named Player of the Week on December 23rd.
  • Tessa Liberatoscioli earned her second Defensive Player of the Week award of the season, having also won on November 24th.
