Women's Basketball Visits Marymount for Tough Road Test on Saturday

THE STORYLINE
  • The Immaculata women's basketball team (15-3, 5-0 AEC) will be back in action on Saturday when they visit Marymount University for a 2 p.m. game.
  • Immaculata enters Saturday's game after defeating Marywood 79-55 on January 22nd for their eighth consecutive win.
  • Marymount (6-12, 3-2 AEC) enters Saturday's game after falling to Mary Washington 50-39 on Wednesday evening at Converse Family Field House.

  • First year guard Kaylah Barr is averaging 9.9 PPG and 2.9 RPG. She scored a season-high 17 points at Salisbury on 12/7. She scored 16 vs Immaculata on 1/4.
  • Junior guard Ella Morrison is averaging 6.5 PPG, and 5.2 RPG. She scored a season-high 14 points vs Lynchburg 11/12. She scored four points vs Immaculata on 1/4.
  • Senior forward Ava Achtyl is averaging six PPG and 4.7 RPG. She scored a season-high 14 points at Dickinson on 11/14. She did not play in the first meeting with Immaculata on 1/4.
  • As a team Marymount is shooting 36.9% from the field, 27.3% from behind the arc, and they are shooting 64% from the stripe.
  • Despite their overall record, Marymount has played a challenging non-conference schedule that has included national ranked opponents #15 Gettysburg, 6 Washington and Lee, and #6 Christopher Newport.
 
WEEKLY HONORS
  • Carly Coleman was named Atlantic East Conference Player of the Week on Monday afternoon following her performance at Marywood. Coleman is the fourth consecutive Mighty Mac to win the AEC Player of the Week Award. This is the fourth time Coleman has earned weekly honors having also been named AEC Defensive Player of the Week and being named to the Weekly Honor Roll two times.
  • Tessa Liberatoscioli was named to the Atlantic East Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon following her strong performance at Marywood. This was the fifth time Liberatoscioli has been honored this season, having been named Defensive Player of the Week two times, and being named to the Weekly Honor Roll three times.
 
AROUND THE AEC
  • Action around the AEC is heating up as the team's begin the second time through the conference schedule this week. Currently, Immaculata occupies they top spot at 5-0. Neumann and Marymount are tied for second and third at 3-2. Centenary and Marywood are tied for fourth and fifth at 2-4 each, while Gwynedd Mercy currently sits in sixth at 1-4.
  • The top five teams will earn spots in the 2025 AEC Women's Basketball Tournament, with the first three seeds receiving a bye to the semifinals. The fourth seed will host the fifth seed in the First Round of the AEC Tournament on February 24th. The first and second seeds will host Semifinals on February 26th, with the highest remaining seed hosting the AEC Championship on March 1st.
