Mullins Scores 1000th Career Point as Women's Basketball Downs Misericordia, 73-59

IMMACULATA, Pa.- Reese Mullins matched her season high with 24 points, including her 1000th career point to help lead Immaculata to a 73-59 win over Misericordia on Thursday afternoon at Alumnae Hall. Tessa Liberatoscioli scored a career high 23 points for the Mighty Macs.

With the win Immaculata improves to 10-3 on the season and are 7-0 at home. With the loss Misericordia falls to 2-8 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Reese Mullins got Immaculata on the board with a jumper to tie the score at 2-2 with 8:29 remaining in the first quarter. Tessa Liberatoscioli scored on a layup to give Immaculata their first lead at 4-3. Mullins followed with a pair of free throws, and a three pointer to tie the score at 11-11 with 3:46 remaining. Mullins drew a foul with 0:28 remaining in the quarter and went to the line for two shots. Mullins hit both free throws, but with the first free throw Mullins scored her 1000th career point. Misericordia led 16-14 after the first quarter.
  • In the second quarter with the score tied at 20-20 with 3:44 remaining, Alyssa Long got a steal and passed the ball to Reese Mullins for a driving layup. Tessa Liberatoscioli followed with a steal and driving layup of her own to put Immaculata up 24-20. Reese Mullins hit a jumper later in the quarter as Immaculata led 29-27 at halftime.
  • Immaculata got off to a fast start in the third quarter as Reese Mullins hit a pair of early free throws. Olivia Ettorre then followed with a three pointer off a pass from Carly Coleman. Mullins then stole the ball and scored on a layup. After a turnover from Misericordia, Tessa Liberatoscioli hit a three-pointer. Olivia Ettorre then stole the ball again, and scored on a jumper as Immaculata increased their lead to 41-27. Tessa Liberatoscioli hit another three pointer, and Riley Cassidy followed with a pair of buckets. Immaculata would take a 57-45 lead into the fourth quarter.
  • In the fourth quarter Reese Mullins began the scoring with a pair of free throws. Meg Robbins scored four points, Alyssa Long scored on a layup, and Tessa Liberatoscioli had multiple steals and driving layups as Immaculata went on to win 73-59.
