ASTON, Pa.- The Immaculata University softball team was back in action visiting Neumann University for an Atlantic East Conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon. Immaculata dropped both games falling 4-2 in the first game, and 10-2 in the second game.
Game One: Neumann 4, IMMACULATA 2
In game one, Neumann opened the scoring in the bottom of the first scoring the game's first run on a single to left field to take a 1-0 lead. Neumann would extend their lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the third inning scoring an unearned run.
Immaculata would even the score in the top of the fourth inning when
Jess Oldham doubled to center field to score Briele Anthony to cut the Neumann lead to 2-1.
Rylee Martin would tie the score at 2-2 scoring
Emma Pinto on a sacrifice fly to center field.
Neumann would regain the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning scoring on an RBI single, and a second run on a fielder's choice to take a 4-2 lead.
Neumann would go on to close out the win 4-2 win.
Emma Mercadante took the loss for Immaculata falling to 4-5 on the season four runs, three earned and struck out one.
Game Two: Neumann 10, IMMACULATA 2 (5 Innings)
In game two, Immaculata jumped out to a quick 2-0 in the top of the first inning as
Peyton McGowan reached first on an error by the third baseman that scored
Jess Oldham and
Emma Pinto.
Neumann would answer back with five runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 5-2 lead. All five runs were unearned.
Neumann would add on three unearned runs in the bottom of the third inning to increase their lead to 8-2 heading into the fourth inning.
Neumann would go on to close out the game in the bottom of the fifth inning with a two-run single to take game two 10-2.
Courtney Gable took the loss for Immaculata falling to 3-4 on the season, going four innings and allowing only two earned runs.
Emma Pinto tied her career high for hits in a game with a two hits in each game of the doubleheader for Immaculata going 2-for-3 in game one, and 2-for-3 in game two.

th when they travel to take on Rutgers-Newark in a non-conference doubleheader at 4:00 PM.
