IMMACULATA,Pa.- The Immaculata baseball team concluded their series sweep over Centenary this afternoon with a 16-8 victory at the Immaculata Baseball Stadium.

The Mighty Macs offense jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first with
Ryan Struble driving in
Joey Sacco by way of a sacrifice fly. The Macs would bring seven runs across the plate in the 3
rd inning to break the game open, with Struble,
Steven Theisen,
Hunter Weitzel,
Sal Serici, and Sacco all driving in runs in the inning.

After the Cyclones put up a three spot in the top of the fourth to cut the Immaculata lead to 8-3,
Josh Crowding would tally his fourth home run of the year to lead off the frame. Weitzel would single in a pair while Serici would single in another while Weitzel also scored on a throwing error to make it 13-3.

Centenary would add a run in both the 5
th and 6
th to cut the lead to eight.
Joey Sacco and
Joey Wright would both get those runs back in the 6
th with Sacco bringing home Theisen with a single and Wright doubling in Sacco.
Shawn Haut would also send his fourth homer of the year over the left field wall to lead off the 7
th and wrap up the offensive performance for the Macs with their 16
th run of the afternoon. Centenary would score a trio of runs in the bottom of the 8
th but would not threaten throughout the remainder of the contest.

Sal Serici had the best game of his freshman campaign, going 4-5 at the plate, setting a new single game career high.
Steven Theisen was 3-5 with a trio of runs scored as well for Immaculata. The offense drew four walks and four hit by pitches while picking up 16 hits versus the Cyclones pitching staff.

Steven DiBattista picked up his Atlantic East Conference leading 6
th win of the season with 1.1 innings in relief.

The Immaculata baseball team is back in action at the Immaculata Baseball Stadium on Saturday, April 13
th when they host Elizabethtown College for a non-conference double header beginning at 12:00 PM.
