ELIZABETHTOWN,PA.- The Immaculata baseball team dropped their road doubleheader with Elizabethtown in a non-conference matchup this afternoon.
GAME ONE: IMMACULATA:3 ELIZABETHTOWN:7
Immaculata got the scoring started in game one causing chaos on the basepaths allowing
Sal Serici to score. Elizabethtown scored a pair in the bottom half to take a 2-1 victory.
Josh Crowding belted his team leading 5
th homerun driving in
Joey Wright to take a 3-2 lead. Elizabethtown would score one in the 4
th to tie things up. The Blue Jays would hit a 3-run homerun in the 5
th to break the game open. They would also add another in the 6
th inning.
Crowding, Serici,
Shawn Haut,
Steven Theisen, and
Jay Lawrence all had a hit for Immaculata in game one while Wright had a pair of walks.
Jason Hughes struck out a game high four in the start for Immaculata.
GAME TWO: IMMACULATA:2 CABRINI:4
Trailing 4-0 until the 8
th inning, the Immaculata offense would rely on the long ball to get back into the game.
Josh Crowding sent his second homer of the day and 6
th of the season over the right center wall to make it a 4-1 ballgame.
Ryan Struble would connect on his 3
rd homerun of the season to bring the score to 4-2. That is all the Immaculata offense could bring across as their rally efforts in the top of the 9
th would fall short.
Crowding led the way in game two going 3-5 with an RBI.
Robert Woodward would start game two behind the plate, as the sophomore went 2-4 at the dish.
Joey Sacco, Haut, Theisen, and
Nick Turnage would all pick up hits in the contest for the Mighty Macs.
The Immaculata baseball team is back in action on Tuesday, April 17
th when they host The Cololege of New Jersey for a 3:30 PM non-conference matchup at the Immaculata Baseball Stadium.
