IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University men's lacrosse team fell to Neumann 17-12 in the Atlantic East Quarterfinals at Draper Walsh Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
In the first quarter, Neumann opened the scoring in the game's first minute to take a 1-0 lead.
Joseph Biuso tied the score on an assist from
Bailey Manion with 11:49 remaining in the quarter. Following a Neumann goal,
Connor Teears scored on an assist from
David Azzarano, and
Joseph Biuso scored his second goal of the game on an assist from
David Azzarano as Immaculata took a 3-2 lead. Neumann responded with five straight goals to lead 7-3 after the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Neumann would score early to increase their lead to 8-3.
Nicholas DeFilippo scored on an assist from
Bailey Manion, and
Joseph Biuso added his third goal of the game on an assist from
Bailey Manion to cut the Neuman lead to 8-5. Neumann scored three goals to increase their lead to 11-5.
Ben Wesolowski scored a pair of goals; the second goal was assisted by
David Azzarano as Neumann led 11-7 at the half.
The teams would go back in forth in the fist half of the third quarter without scoring. With 7:31 remaining in the quarter
David Azzarano scored on an assist by
Nicholas DeFilippo.
Connor Teears scored on an assist from
Bailey Manion with 5:57 remaining, and
Bailey Manion scored on an assist from
Connor Teears to cut the Neumann lead to 11-10. Neumann scored a pair of goal late in the quarter to take a 13-10 lead into the final quarter.
In the fourth quarter,
Ryan Gorman scored on an assist by
David Azzarano, and
Bailey Manion scored to pull Immaculata with in three goals at 15-12. Neumann would score the final two goals on their way to closing out the win 17-12.
Immaculata was led by
Bailey Manion with two goals and four assists.
David Azzarano with one goal, four assists, and five ground balls.
Joseph Biuso scored three goals.
Connor Teears had two goals and one assist.
Ben Wesolowski had two goals and
Nicholas DeFilippo had one goal and one assist.
The Immaculata University men's lacrosse team has now concluded their season with an overall record of 9-7, and a 3-3 record in Atlantic East Conference play. Look for a season recap next week.
