IMMACULATA,Pa.- The Immaculata baseball team picked up a 4-3 victory over The College of New Jersey this afternoon.

 TCNJ got on the board first in the top of the 2
nd inning to take an early 1-0 lead. The Mighty Macs would not take long to respond as
Joey Sacco would tie the game up with a productive run producing groundout.
Â
The game would remain deadlocked at 1-1 until the top of the 5
th, when the Lions brought across a run taking advantage of an Immaculata defensive miscue.
Josh Crowding would respond in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI double to left center field to score Sacco and make it a 2-2 ballgame.

Immaculata would take their first lead of the game in the 6
th inning when
Louis Sharp ripped a double down the left field line to bring
Steven Theisen around to score. Theisen would add an insurance run in the bottom half of the seventh with an RBI single to score Crowding and make it a 4-2 game. The Lions would add one run in the 9
th but their rally would fall short as
Brian Dino picked up his first save of the season.

Matt Long twirled five innings of baseball surrendering four hits and allowing one earned run.
Jake Confrey,
Alexander Singer, and
Derek Andrada would combine for 3.0 innings of shutout baseball in relief. Singer would earn the win in the contest.

Nick Turnage led the way for Immaculata going 3-4 at the plate, Sharp and
Hunter Weitzel were 2-3 on the day while Crowding and Theisen were each 2-4.

The Immaculata baseball team is back in action returning to Atlantic East Conference play when they travel to Gwynedd Mercy University for a 3:00 PM start on Friday, April 19
th.
