BALTIMORE, Md.- The Immaculata University women's lacrosse team was back in action on Saturday, defeating Notre Dame of Maryland University 17-4 in a non-conference road matchup.
Immaculata was led offensively by
Tessa Liberatoscioli with three goals and two assists.
Liza Laxton had two goals and three assists.
Kaitlyn Klitchko scored four goals.
Nicole Brennan had two goals and one assist.
Jacki Murray had three goals.
Gianna Caputo had one goal and one assist.
Andrea Petito and
Cara Strickland each had one goal, and
Carly Oberg had one assist.
Tessa Liberatoscioli had five ground balls, three caused turnovers, and four draw controls.
Jacki Murray had three ground balls and five draw controls, and
Liza Laxton had two ground balls, and three draw controls.
Abigail Guarneri had six saves in goal.
Immaculata opened the scoring early as
Liza Laxton scored 0:20 into the game, and then set up
Jacki Murray for their second goal 0:19 later.
Tessa Liberatoscioli scored a pair of goals to put Immaculata up 4-0 after only four minutes with play. Immaculata would get additional goals from Liberatoscioli, Murray, Laxton, and
Kaitlyn Klitchko to take an 11-0 after the first quarter.
Nicole Brennan scored twice in the second quarter as Immaculata would take a 13-1 lead into the halftime break.
Gianna Caputo and
Cara Strickland scored in the third quarter, and
Kaitlyn Klitchko and
Andrea Petito scored in the fourth quarter as Immaculata closed out the win 17-4.
Immaculata outshot Notre Dame 27-14, held a 25-22 lead in ground balls, and had a 13-11 advantage in draw controls.
