Seniors Lead Way in Non Conference Finale Victory Over Lycoming

IMMACULATA,Pa.- The Immaculata women's lacrosse is back in the win column after taking down Lycoming at Draper Walsh Stadium this afternoon 24-16.
 
After trailing 7-5 with 13:49 remaining in the second period, the Immaculata seniors would step up in a huge way. Sophomore Cara Strickland would score consecutive goals to give Immaculata the lead for good in the 11:33 and 10:11 minute marks of the second half.
 
Outside of the pair of Strickland goals, the 35 other points for Immaculata on the afternoon were from one of their four key seniors for the Mighty Macs. Liza Laxton led the way with 11 points, by way of four goals and seven assists. Tessa Liberatoscioli wasn't far behind, with 10 points on the day with six goals and four assists. Jacki Murray had herself a day on the Draper Walsh turf as well, with seven goals and two assists to give her nine points in the game, while also setting a new single game program record for draw controls with 19. Kaitlyn Klitchko added five goals of her own for Immaculata.
 
Immaculata was scrappy on the field this afternoon, causing eight turnovers with Liberatoscioli, Ava Hoffman and Andrea Petito all causing two while Murray and Kelsey Caldarelli added one. The team also picked up 34 ground balls with Petito leading the way with a game high seven.
 
The Immaculata women's lacrosse team is back in action on Wednesday, April 3rd when they travel to Marymount for their Atlantic East Conference Opener at 4:00 PM.
