IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University men's volleyball hosted Bryn Athyn College on Monday night at Alumnae Hall in their final home match of the 2024 season. Immaculata defeated Bryn Athyn three games to none winning 25-20, 25-13, and 25-19.
Prior to the match, Immaculata honored seniors,
Thomas Pierce (Wilmington, DE / St. Mark's),
Jack Debes (Oreland, Pa. / Roman Catholic), and
Joe Martell (Levittown, Pa. / Pennsbury) for their hard work and dedication to the Immaculata men's volleyball program.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Immaculata was led offensively by
Josh McGurl with 13 kills.
Jack Debes had 11 kills, and a service ace.
Brandon Fox had six kills, and
Michael Prall had five kills.
Joe Martell distributed 29 assists and added one kill.
Defensively,
Matthew Pfister led Immaculata with 11 digs.
Josh McGurl had eight digs,
Jack Debes,
Michael Prall, and
Joe Martell each had six digs.
Ethan Ngo had five digs,
Brandon Fox had four digs, and
Thomas Pierce had two digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first set, the teams exchanged point early. With Immaculata leading 17-14,
Michael Prall earned a side out for Immaculata with a kill. He followed by serving three consecutive points that came on kills from
Josh McGurl and
Brandon Fox as Immaculata extended their lead to 21-14. Immaculata would win the first set 25-20, with the decisive point coming on a kill by
Michael Prall.  Â
In set two, with Immaculata leading 13-8,
Jack Debes served five straight points that included a service ace, and a kill from
Brandon Fox as Immaculata extended their lead to 18-8.
Evan Timlin later served two consecutive points including a service ace as Immaculata went on to win set two 25-13.
In the third set, Bryn Athyn with Bryn Athyn leading 14-12, Immaculata earned the side out to cut the lead to 14-13.
Ethan Ngo served three straight points including a service ace and a kill from
Brandon Fox as Immaculata took a 16-14 lead.
Michael Prall later served six consecutive points as Immaculata would go on to win set three 25-19, and the match 3-0.

st when they travel to take on Neumann University for their final match of the 2024 season at 7:00 PM.
