IMMACULATA, Pa.- Mandon Seapoe scored a career-high 25 points, shooting 9-14 from the field, and 2-2 from behind the arc, and had four steals to help lead Immaculata to a 65-61 win over Delaware Valley on Wednesday evening at Alumnae Hall.
John Flood had an important steal with 0:20 remaining, a big rebound and hit a pair of free throws late to help close out the win.
With the win Immaculata improves to 3-5 overall, having won three out of their last four games. With the loss Delaware Valley falls to 3-3 overall.
How it Happened
- John Proctor scored both of Immaculata's first two baskets as Immaculata led early 4-2. Jalen Flowers hit a three-pointer to put Immaculata ahead 7-6 with 14:31 remaining in the first half. Mandon Seapoe hit a pair of layups as Immaculata led 11-10.
- Delaware Valley responded, opening a nine-point lead at 22-13 with 8:08 remaining in the first half. John Proctor hit a three-pointer and followed with a pair of layups to cut the lead to 22-20 with 6:56 remaining. Dylan Crews gave Immaculata the lead with a three-pointer to make the score 23-22. Mandon Seapoe hit a pair of free throws late in the half as the game went to the halftime break tied at 32-32.
- In the second half, John Flood scored on a pair of layups as Immaculata took the lead 36-34. Dylan Crews and Mandon Seapoe followed with layups, and Ryan Straub hit a three-pointer as Immaculata led 43-34 with 15:09 remaining. Delaware Valley rallied back, taking a 48-47 lead with 9:34 remaining in the game. The teams would exchange baskets until the score was tied 56-56 with 2:51 remaining.
- Delaware Valley took the lead 58-56 with 1:25 remaining. Mandon Seapoe hit a three-pointer with 1:11 remaining to put Immaculata back up 59-58. After a rebound by Jalen Flowers, John Flood scored on a layup to increase the Mighty Macs lead to 61-58 with 0:35 remaining. On the defensive end, John Flood produced a steal and called an immediate timeout.
- Mandon Seapoe hit a pair of free throws to increase the Immaculata lead to 63-58 with 0:15 remaining. Delaware Valley hit a quick three-pointer with 0:09 remaining to cut the Immaculata lead to 63-61. On the inbound Dylan Crews was fouled. After missing the front end of the one and one, John Flood got the rebound and ran a couple of seconds off the clock before being fouled. Flood proceeded to close out the win hitting both free throws as Immaculata won 65-61.
