THE STORYLINE
  • The Immaculata women's basketball team (5-1) visits the famed Palestra in Philadelphia to play an exhibition game vs The University of Pennsylvania. This will be the Mighty Macs' first game vs a Division One team since January 31, 2022, when they played Army at West Point, N.Y.
  • Immaculata enters Tuesday's game after defeating Keystone College 75-58 on Saturday at Alumnae Hall for their fourth consecutive win.
  • Penn (3-3) enters Tuesday's game after falling to UC-Irvine at home on Thursday evening 72-68 in OT.
THE SERIES HISTORY
  • Immaculata and the University of Pennsylvania are meeting for the first time during their school's time in the NCAA. Immaculata and Penn have met seven times during their membership in the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) with their last meeting occurring in 1980.
  • Immaculata is 4-3 all-time vs Penn in their series that began back in 1968.
LAST MEETING
  • Immaculata defeated Penn 66-61 in OT at Alumnae Hall on January 17, 1980. Helen Dean scored 22 points, and Joan Hennessey scored 15 points for Immaculata.

  • Riley Cassidy scored eight points vs Keystone on Saturday. Cassidy is averaging 7.3 PPG coming off the bench.
  • Alyssa Long continues to provide leadership and energy off the bench. She had four rebounds, three assists, one blocked shot and one steal vs Keystone on Saturday.

SCOUTING PENN
  • Penn won their first three games of the season, defeating Merrimack 64-52, Maine 56-52, and Siena 78-47. They have dropped their last three games, falling to Saint Joseph's 68-57, Villanova 80-64, and UC Irvine 78-62 in OT.
  • Senior guard Stina Almqvist leads Penn averaging team-highs with 20.2 PPG and 8.3 RPG and is tied for the team lead with 21 assists. Almqvist scored her season-high of 27 points vs Siena on November 13.
  • Sophomore guard Mataya Gayle is averaging 11.2 PPG, is tied for the team lead with 21 assists and has 10 steals. She had a season-high 17 points vs Merrimack on November 8.
  • Freshman forward Katie Collins is averaging 9.3 PPG, and 7.5 RPG. Collins has team highs in blocked shots with 14 and steals with 11.
  • Junior guard Saniah Caldwell is averaging 4.5 PPG coming off the bench. She has 11 assists, 17 rebounds and six steals.
  • Penn is shooting 40.4% (144-356) from the field, 27.1% (36-133) from behind the arc, and are shooting 70% from the free throw line.
  • Penn is 2-2 at the Palestra this season.

  • Immaculata will start a stretch of five straight games on the road on Tuesday.
