Women's Volleyball Travels to Eastern for Friday Evening Match

THE STORYLINE
  • The Immaculata women's volleyball team (2-8, 0-0 AEC) returns to action on Friday evening, when they travel to play Eastern University at 6:00 pm. This is one of two final scheduled non-conference matches, before the Mighty Macs will open Atlantic East Conference play on October 16th at Marywood University.
  • The Eastern women's volleyball team (10-5, 2-0 MAC-CW) enters Friday's match after defeating York College (PA) 3-0 on Tuesday evening. Eastern went 1-2 over the weekend at the John Hopkins Tournament. The Eagles lost to #5 ranked John Hopkins 3-0, SUNY Cortland 3-0, and defeated Mary Washington 3-0.
 
THE SERIES
  • These two schools will be meeting for the third time in their series that began 2007 and was renewed in 2023.
  • Immaculata is 0-2 all-time vs Eastern.
 
LAST MEETING
  • Eastern defeated Immaculata 3-0 in their last meeting on September 14, 2023, at Alumnae Hall. Emily Ettien had three kills, seven assists, one service ace, and four digs for Immaculata.
  • The meeting between these two schools at Eastern was on October 8, 2007, when Eastern defeated Immaculata 3-0. Diane Quintanilla had three kills, Tabitha Reilly had four digs, and Meredith Smith had four assists.
 
MIGHTY MAC NOTES
  • Mia Esposito leads Immaculata's offense with 45 kills on the season. She has added two service aces. Defensively, Esposito has a team high 11 blocks.

  • Libero Dinah Stabinski leads Immaculata's defense with a team high 118 digs. She is averaging 4.07 digs per set.
  • Jenna Bozzo has 37 digs, and Alayah Phifer has 36 digs.
 
SCOUTING EASTERN
  • Eastern's offense has been led by junior outside hitter Hannah Pringle with 205 kills, senior middle hitter Logan Martin with 150 kills, and senior middle hitter Bridgette Kelly with 132 kills.
  • Graduate setter Elle Jiron-Bujanda has a team high 562 assists.
  • Bridgette Kelly has a team high 30 service aces, and graduate libero Grace Casagrande has 28 service aces.
  • Eastern's defense has been led by Grace Casagrande with 290 digs. Junior defensive specialist Viviana Fragoso and senior defensive specialist Trinity Gruber each have 120 digs.
  • Bridgette Kelly leads the Eagles with 35 blocks. Logan Martin has 26 blocks.
 
WEEKLY HONORS
  • Dinah Stabinski was named to the Atlantic East Conference Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. Stabinski had 10 digs vs Ursinus on September 24th.
 
UP NEXT
  • Immaculata women's volleyball will return on Wednesday, October 16th when they open Atlantic East Conference play at Marywood at 7:00 pm.
