THE STORYLINE 

• The Immaculata men's soccer team (5-8-1, 2-2-0 AEC) is back in action on Saturday when they visit Gwynedd Mercy for an important AEC game at 1:00 pm. 

• Immaculata enters Saturday's game looking to bounce back from Wednesday's loss to Neumann at Draper Walsh Stadium. 

• Gwynedd Mercy (2-15-1, 0-4-0 AEC) enters Saturday's game after falling to Marywood 3-0 on the road Wednesday evening. 

THE SERIES 

• These two schools are meeting for the 19th time in their series that began in 2006. 

• Immaculata is 11-5-2 all-time vs Gwynedd Mercy in men's soccer. 

LAST MEETING 

• Immaculata fell to Gwynedd Mercy 1-0 in their last meeting at Draper Walsh Stadium on October 14, 2023. 

MIGHTY MAC NOTES 

• Matthew Kirkpatrick with five goals and three assists, and Michael Balestriere with five goals lead the Immaculata offense. 

• Reed Lindsay scored one goal and four assists, and a team high 20 shots on goal. 

• Jonathan Olaleye and Oliver Wilkins each have two goals for the Mighty Macs. 

• Kyle Coleman has one goal. 

• Goalkeeper Ryan Straub is 3-4-0 this season with 1.61 goals-against average and has one shutout this season. Staub entered Wednesday's game in the second half and stopped a second half penalty kick to keep Immaculata in the game. 

• Daneil O'Rourke has been strong on the defensive end for Immaculata earning a Weekly Honor Roll selection and was named Atlantic East Conference Defensive Player of the Week. 

• Immaculata is averaging 12.6 shots per game, and their opponents are averaging 13.8 shots per game. 

• Immaculata is 3-2 in road games in 2024. 

SCOUTING GWYNEDD MERCY 

• Sophomore midfielder Luke O'Donnell leads the Gwynedd Mercy offense with six goals and one assist. 

• Junior midfielder C.J. Clyde and junior defender Collin Stock each have two goals, and one assist this season. 

• Freshman midfielder Gunnar Christensen scored two goals.  

• Freshman Fionn Berton who has started nine games and is 0-8-1 with a 2.50 goals-against average, and junior Joe Romano who is 2-7-0 with a 3.24 goals-against average have split time in goal for Gwynedd Mercy. 

• Gwynedd Mercy is averaging 11.7 shots per game, and their opponents are averaging 21.8 shots per game. 

• Gwynedd Mercy is 1-6 at home this season. 

WEEKLY HONORS 

• Daniel O'Rourke was named the Atlantic East Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. O'Rourke helped lead Immaculata to a 4-0 Atlantic East Conference win over Pratt Institute on Saturday, October 19th. O'Rourke and the Mighty Macs defense held Pratt to only a single attempt, and zero shots on goal. O'Rourke had an assist on Immaculata's second goal of the game. 

• Matthew Kirkpatrick was named to the Atlantic East Conference Men's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. Kirkpatrick had a goal and an assist in Immaculata's 4-0 Atlantic East Conference win over Pratt Institute on Saturday, October 19th. 

ATLANTIC EAST CONFERENCE PLAYOFF RACE 

• Immaculata currently sits in third place in the Atlantic East Conference at 2-2. Marywood and Centenary are tied for fourth and fifth place at 1-2-1 each. Pratt sits in sixth place at 1-4-0, and Gwynedd Mercy is currently in seventh place at 0-4-0. 

• Immaculata would clinch a playoff spot with a win or a draw at Gwynedd Mercy. 

• Marywood is playing at Pratt on Saturday.  

• Immaculata is hoping to clinch third place, which would allow Immaculata to advance to directly to the semifinals, or to clinch fourth place and host the Atlantic East Conference Tournament First Round vs the fifth-seeded team.
