THE STORYLINE 

  • The Immaculata men's soccer team (5-8-1, 2-2-0 AEC) is back in action on Saturday when they visit Gwynedd Mercy for an important AEC game at 1:00 pm. 

  • Immaculata enters Saturday's game looking to bounce back from Wednesday's loss to Neumann at Draper Walsh Stadium. 

  • Gwynedd Mercy (2-15-1, 0-4-0 AEC) enters Saturday's game after falling to Marywood 3-0 on the road Wednesday evening.

  • These two schools are meeting for the 19th time in their series that began in 2006.

  • Gwynedd Mercy is averaging 11.7 shots per game, and their opponents are averaging 21.8 shots per game.

WEEKLY HONORS 

  • Daniel O'Rourke was named the Atlantic East Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. O'Rourke helped lead Immaculata to a 4-0 Atlantic East Conference win over Pratt Institute on Saturday, October 19th. O'Rourke and the Mighty Macs defense held Pratt to only a single attempt, and zero shots on goal. O'Rourke had an assist on Immaculata's second goal of the game. 

  • Matthew Kirkpatrick was named to the Atlantic East Conference Men's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. Kirkpatrick had a goal and an assist in Immaculata's 4-0 Atlantic East Conference win over Pratt Institute on Saturday, October 19th. 

ATLANTIC EAST CONFERENCE PLAYOFF RACE 

  • Immaculata currently sits in third place in the Atlantic East Conference at 2-2. Marywood and Centenary are tied for fourth and fifth place at 1-2-1 each. Pratt sits in sixth place at 1-4-0, and Gwynedd Mercy is currently in seventh place at 0-4-0. 

  • Immaculata would clinch a playoff spot with a win or a draw at Gwynedd Mercy. 

  • Marywood is playing at Pratt on Saturday.  

  • Immaculata is hoping to clinch third place, which would allow Immaculata to advance to directly to the semifinals, or to clinch fourth place and host the Atlantic East Conference Tournament First Round vs the fifth-seeded team.

  • Immaculata men's soccer team will return home on Wednesday, October 30th when they will host Marywood at Draper Walsh Stadium at 7:00 pm in their final Atlantic East Conference regular season game of the season.
