ASTON, Pa.- Gabby Palladino scored her second goal of the season in the game's 78
th minute to help visiting Immaculata earn a 2-2 draw against Neumann in Atlantic East Conference women's soccer action on Wednesday afternoon at Neuman's Turf Stadium.
With the draw Immaculata improves to 6-8-2 overall and 2-2-1 in Atlantic East Conference play. Immaculata has now clinched a spot in the Atlantic East Conference playoffs. Neumann improves to 7-8-2 overall, and to 3-1-1 in conference play.
Rachel McNamee scored her seventh goal of the season for Immaculata in the game's 25
th minute to give Immaculata the 1-0 lead.
How it Happened
- Immaculata opened the scoring in the game's 25th minute when Rachel McNamee stole the ball and put a shot on goal from 30 yards out that found the top of the net to give Immaculata the 1-0 lead.
- Immaculata led 1-0 at halftime and had the only two shots in the first half. Each team had one corner kick each.
- In the game's 55th minute Immaculata was called for a foul in the box, and Neumann was awarded a penalty kick. Hannah Dang converted the pk to tie the game at 1-1.
- In the game's 68th minute Neumann would take a 2-1 lead when Anna Poehlmann scored off an assist by Morghan Stiles.
- In the game's 78th minute, Rachel McNamee served a low corner kick that Kelsey Caldarelli lifted into the air in the box. The Neumann goalie punched the ball out. Addison Yackel then put the rebound on goal, it was swatted out by the Neumann defender off a body, and Gabby Palladino knocked in the rebound to the tie the game at 2-2.
- Immaculata had shots on goal from Gabby Palladino and Rachel McNamee that were saved by Neumann goalkeeper Niki Soto as the game ended tied at two.
