WILKES-BARRE, Pa.- The Immaculata women's soccer team was back in action as the visited King's College, falling 3-0.
In the first half of play, King's got on the board early from a free kick. The kick landed in the box area, King's got a shot that was saved by Immaculata goalkeeper
Emily Guthier, King's managed to knock in the rebound to take a 1-0 lead 4:15 into the game.
Immaculata would register it's first shot on goal at 31:48 as
Savanna Crowding hit a low shot that was saved by the King's goalkeeper. Kings would hold an 8-1 lead in shots, and a 5-1 lead in shots on goal in the first half. Goalkeeper
Emily Guthier made four saves and the Immaculata defense was able to keep the score 1-0 at the half.
In the second half, King's would take a 2-0 with a goal in the 47
th minute of play. Kings would extend their lead to 3-0 with a goal in the 78
th minute. In the second half King's would hold a 9-0 lead in shots and a 4-0 advantage in shots on goal. The Monarchs would have a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks throughout the match.
Emily Guthier made six saves in goal to lead the Mighty Macs defensively. On the offensive side
Savanna Crowding had the only shot on goal for the Macs.
The Immaculata women's soccer team will be back in action on Saturday, September 9
th when they visit Goucher College for a 1:00 PM match.
