ST.DAVID'S,Pa.- The Immaculata field hockey team dropped their non-conference matchup on the road at Eastern University this evening by a score of 3-2.

Eastern jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in just the 5
th minute of action. Senior
Lauren Buckel would answer right back for Immaculata in the 7
th minute of play, finding the back of the net off a feed from freshman
Jillian Vandenbraak. This would mark J. Vandenbraak's first collegiate point.

The score would remain deadlocked at 1-1 heading into the break. Less than a minute into the second half, senior
Lauren Vandenbraak would give the Macs a 2-1 advantage with her first goal of the season. Eastern would respond however, using a pair of late 3
rd quarter goals to retake the lead by a score of 3-2. After a scoreless fourth quarter, the Eagles would walk away with a 3-2 victory.

Immaculata's offensive attack was able to draw four penalty corners on the night, as well as tallying four shots on goal, two by way of L.Vandenbraak, one from Buckel and the other via freshman
Emilyn Bivens.

The Immaculata field hockey team will be back in action on Saturday, September 9
th when they take on King's College of PA at Draper Walsh Stadium at 11:00 AM. This contest will be the Mighty Macs home opener.
