WESTMINSTER, Md.- The Immaculata men's soccer team opened their season on Friday afternoon when they visited McDaniel. 90 minutes of soccer was not enough to decide a victor as Immaculata and McDaniel battled throughout but the contest ended in a scoreless tie.

In the first half of play, Immaculata and McDaniel battled throughout, with McDaniel having the slight edge in shots seven-to-five and in shots on goal four-to-three. EJ Martin, Matthew Kirkpatrick, and Michael Balestriere all registered shots on goal for the Macs. Goalkeeper Ryan Straub made four saves in the first half.

In the second half of play, McDaniel out shot Immaculata nine-to-two, and had a five-to- one advantage in shots on goal.  McDaniel also held an a five-to-one advantage in second half corner kicks and an eight-to-three advantage throughout the match.

Junior goalkeeper Ryan Straub led the way for the Macs, earning the clean sheet by making eight saves. Matthew Kirkpatrick registered four shots and had two on goal for Immaculata.

The Immaculata men's soccer team (0-0-1) will be back in action on Sunday, September 3^rd when they visit Arcadia at 12:00 PM
