IMMACULATA,Pa.- The Immaculata baseball team split their doubleheader with Marymount University, winning game one 2-0 and dropping game two 4-1.
Game One: Immaculata 2 Marymount 0
Jason Hughes and
Mason Keller combined for a one hit shutout in the contest. Hughes picked up the win, which has set a new single season program record for wins in a season. He also had six strikeouts in his 3.2 innings of work.
Josh Crowding got the Mighty Macs on the board in the 1
st with an RBI groundout to bring home
Frank Margiotta.
Joey Sacco stole 3
rd and scored on the play as well to add an insurance run in the 5
th inning.
Game Two: Immaculata 1 Marymount 4
Marymount used a bases clearing double in the top of the 5
th to jump out to a 3-0 lead.
Robert Woodward would come into the game as a pinch hitter in the 7th inning and hit a solo homerun to put the Mighty Macs on the board. This would be the first career collegiate homerun for Woodward.
The Immaculata baseball team will be back in action on Wednesday, May 10
th for a 1:00 start time at the Immaculata Baseball Stadium in the opening round of the Atlantic East Conference tournament.
