IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata softball team dropped both games of their doubleheader with Penn State Brandywine on Tuesday afternoon. The Macs dropped game one 10-2, and game two 12-1.
Game One: Penn State Brandywine 10, Immaculata 2 (5 Innings)
Penn State Brandywine got on the board early scoring one run in the first inning and adding three more runs in the fourth inning to go up 4-0. The Nittany Lions added another run in the top of the fourth to take a 5-0 lead.
Immaculata got the board in the bottom of the fourth as
Peyton McGowan scored pinch runner
Steph Kelly from third on an infield single to the shortstop. McGowan would later score on a sacrifice fly to left field from
Morgan Sakulich.
Penn state Brandywine would score four runs in the top of the fifth inning and closed out the 10-2 win after five innings.
Emma Mercadante took the loss to fall to 3-6 on the season, going four and two thirds' innings striking out six.
Game Two: Penn State Brandywine 12, Immaculata 1 (5 Innings)
Penn State Brandywine's bats stayed hot in game two, as the took an early lead on a two-run home run in the top of the first inning.
Immaculata would respond in the bottom half of the first.
Bryele Anthony lead off with an infield single to third base.
Lauren Carboni lined a triple to right field that scored
Bryele Anthony from first base with what would be the Macs only run of the game.
Penn State Brandywine would score two runs in the fourth inning and added eight runs in the top of the fifth. The Nittany Lions would go on to close out the 12-1 win in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Sarah Guido took the loss on the mound falling to 3-6 on the season.

th when the host Cabrini for the completion of the second game of their Atlantic East Conference doubleheader that was suspended by rain on March 27
th. First pitch will be at 3:00 PM.
